Join the #22in22 challenge!
Do you love to read?
Visit bookstores 22 times in 2022!
(In person. Like, with your body.)
Zibby Books initiative
WHY?
Because there’s something that gets lost in purely transactional online shopping.
Because you’ll discover a book.
Because being surrounded by books can improve any mood.
Because you’ll be mingling with other like-minded people.
Because bookstores are so important, especially to their local communities.
Because bookstores suffered during Covid and we want to help.
Because you’ll feel good once you do it.
Because authors depend on readers showing up for them.
Because it’s super fun.

The Not-So-Fine Print
-

3. Every time you visit a bookstore, come back right here and quickly input the name and city/state of the bookstore and date of visit. Also tell us what you discovered/bought (optional!).
4. We’ll go through all the submissions once a week and distribute all the spoils of victory.
5. Follow @zibbybooks for more information about the challenge.
6. Tag us @zibbybooks with hashtags #22in22 and #zibbybooks so we can track your exciting progress!
HAVE FUN! Start discovering books.
-
1. You can’t visit the same bookstore 22 times in one day. (I mean, you can, but you won’t get credit for it.)
2. Yes, it can be the same bookstore 22 times but you'd have to visit it on 22 different days.
3. Yes, you *could* do all 22 visits in one day at different stores, but wow, that would be quite a day!
4. Please be honest. This is a purely self-reported challenge. We’re trying to help bookstores, authors and, ultimately, readers like you. If you’re someone who is trying to game the system, please do something else with your limited time. I mean, come on.
5. You don’t *have* to buy anything when you visit the bookstores. But hopefully browsing will encourage you to discover new books and authors who just might change your life. And if you do, we want to hear about it!!
6. Optional: If you go to a bookstore encouraged by this challenge and buy a book that you end up loving, please post about it! Add hashtags #22in22 and #zibbybooks. Tag the author. Tag the bookstore. Tag @zibbybooks. It’ll make us all feel great.
7. This is a global challenge, not just the U.S.! Anyone can join. The more, the merrier.
